The Mahāmṛtyuñjaya is one of the main Shiva mantras. As a healing mantra, it is said to be beneficial for mental, emotional and physical health and to be a liberation mantra which bestows longevity and immortality.
In this afternoon workshop the origin and history of the Mahāmṛtyuñjaya Mantra will be presented. We will study translation, pronunciation and intonation word-for-word, so you can gain the confidence to chant the mantra on your own in your personal practice, as well as introduce it to your yoga students.
At the end of the workshop, we will chant the Mahāmṛtyuñjaya Mantra together for a full mala (108 times).
The Essential Yoga Mantra Series is primarily designed for yoga practitioners and teachers, as well as yoga teacher training students from any background, who want to deepen their knowledge of mantra practice to develop or integrate it into their personal practice or teaching. However, no yoga or mantra experience is required. This workshop can also be attended remotely via Skype, but for the full benefits of group chanting, your personal presence is encouraged.
