It is said that the Gāyatrī Mantra, the “essence of all mantras”, whose Sanskrit words contain the vibrations of the upper luminous spheres of light, has all spiritual powers and potencies of the universe hidden within it. It is a prayer to the Almighty Supreme God, the Creator of the entire cosmos, the essence of our life existence, who removes all our pains and sufferings and grants happiness for our earthly existence.
In this evening workshop, the origin and history of this mantra will be presented. We will study both its long and short forms and go over translation, pronunciation and Vedic intonation word-for-word, so you can gain the confidence to chant the mantra on your own in your personal practice, as well as introduce it to your yoga students.
At the end of the workshop, we will chant the Gāyatrī Mantra together for a full mala (108 times).
The Essential Yoga Mantra Series is primarily designed for yoga practitioners and teachers, as well as yoga teacher training students from any background, who want to deepen their knowledge of mantra practice to develop or integrate it into their personal practice or teaching. However, no yoga or mantra practice is required. This workshop can also be attended remotely via Skype, but for the full benefits of group chanting, your personal presence is encouraged.
