Pain is a part of being on earth. Yet we have the ability to consume it. The way out of the pain is to look at it, and our fears. To do this, we must have compassion for ourselves. If you are in pain or afraid, there is no need to cover it, disguise it, lie about it, feel guilty about it, or avoid it; all the ways we hide eventually lead us to indifference about ourselves and others. Once we can acknowledge our own pain, we can be guided by compassion, both for ourselves and others. We have all been everything and everyone. When we understand this, we can feel love for ourselves and bring that space of love to others.
Join Swami Bhagavati Das as he teaches us how we can feel deeper compassion for ourselves, and how compassion can help us work through our pain and fear. Swami Bhagavati Das has been a close student of Ma Jaya Sati Bhagavati for 40 years. He has resided at Kashi Ashram in Sebastian, Florida since the mid 1970s, where he serves as head pujari (one who does puja).
