One of the hallmarks of an ashram is that it embodies a sense of community and shared belonging. To ensure that anyone can participate in the community of yoga, Kashi offers a number of free and donation-based classes, including:
Meets weekly on Thursdays at 12:00 pm and is a free class open to everyone. Prosperity Yoga is focused on generating prosperity by using yoga, breathwork and meditation.
Kashi Atlanta Mantra Group
Meets once a month on a Sunday at 4:00 pm. Under the guidance of mantra practitioner Saivite Wilson, the group explores mantras and sounds from around the world. Mantra has been used since antiquity as a tool of transformation in all areas of life: physical, spiritual, financial, relational and intellectual. It is a combination of particular words and sounds that embody different forms of Divine consciousness which promote harmony in all areas of life. If you have never chanted before or even if you have a personal practice, come and enjoy the power and energy that comes from group chant in a sacred space!
Yoga for Addictions and 12-step Meeting
Meets weekly on Mondays at 7:30 pm. Learn to use physical asana, breathwork, meditation and mantra to help heal addictive behavior. Yoga classes will be approached as both moving prayer and meditation. Open to both beginners and experienced yogis. The physical asana class is from 7:30 – 8:30 pm, immediately followed by an open 12-step meeting in which all must be willing to share. Lead by our yoga instructor Kala, this class is open to everyone seeking freedom from the pain of addiction.
Trans* & Queer Yoga
Our weekly Trans* & Queer Yoga class meets Thursdays at 7:45 pm and is open to all who self-identify as queer, trans*, or anywhere along the variant sexuality and gender path, as well as their partners, friends and allies. We also offer a longer, more support-group meeting style class, usually on the first Friday at 7 pm.
All T&QY classes are rooted in Kali Natha Yoga. They include gentle yoga asana, pranayama and meditation, and are lead by transgender yoga instructors Amala and Kimble Sorrells.
