Jaya Dasi’s Easter Egg Roll at the White House

You might be surprised to learn that one of the oldest annual events in the history of the White House is the traditional Easter Egg Roll Party held on the South Lawn every Easter Monday since 1878.

This year, on March 28, our yoga teacher Jaya Dasi and 24 other yoga leaders from across the country co-taught a diverse range of families in a wonderfully eclectic and flowing yoga practice on stage as part of Michele Obama’s Let’s Move campaign.

For Jaya Dasi, the experience was quite a thrill: “It was an absolute honor to be amongst such a dynamic group of yogis, in addition to the supportive team that made the Yoga Garden so meaningful.”

The Yoga Garden was a joyful experience connecting a wide swath of visiting families from all over the United States to the practice of yoga. Now that’s a tradition worth repeating!
