The way we are delivering food to our homeless friends in Atlanta through our StreetMeals program is changing. Because the Peachtree and Pine Homeless Shelter is closing, we have partnered with SafeHouse Outreach (SHO), an Atlanta based nonprofit organization that provides practical, emotional, and physical assistance and support for the in-need and at-risk.
Please come serve with us! Find out what the NEW Street Meals looks like!

We are very excited about our new partnership with SHO, located at 89 Ellis St NE, Atlanta. Every Wednesday beginning August 23, we will be serving a healthy, plated, vegetarian meal to 100+ homeless. The homeless guests will be served lunch, sitting at tables and chairs, treated with respect and compassion. Allowing the men, women, and children to eat in dignity, with tables, chairs, flatware, indoors out of the harsh elements is something we are proud to be a part of.
Serving in this fashion will cause us to make some big changes. Our Tuesday evening food preparation will include chopping, cooking, and packing up a vegetarian meal for delivery the next day. No cooking skills required! On Wednesdays, we will expand our volunteer hours for the distribution process. We are asking all volunteers to arrive at Kashi by 10:30 a.m., so that we can load up the food and provide a brief orientation to these new volunteers. Upon arrival at Sate House, we will be setting up the dining room, greeting/registering our guests, plating and serving the food and water. We estimate our return to Kashi to be no later than 12:45. However, volunteers may depart directly from Safe House due to time constraints; there is some limited parking available at Safe House for volunteers, if needed.
Our first food preparation for Safe House will be this Tuesday August 22.
The first distribution will be the day after. Donations to support this effort are also deeply appreciated. Please use this link or call our office. If you have any specific questions, please email Agni Jaya, Ram Dev at or Rudra Priya.
